We lost our ability
to focus, to decide
We lost the way
to think in our minds
Instead we’re fed algorithms
the endless news, we rage
the epic shows, we binge
the targeted ads, we buy
When did we last
walk a mile deep in silence?
shut our phones for a while, and
daydream our own indulgence?
Why fight for peace, if we’d just find the peace lacking?
Why listen, if we’re just convinced They’re wrong?
Why be farmers, when we can be fed like cattle?
With eyes opened, may we see past this barn
