I Live in a Desert

I live in a desert, where
there’s no end in sight
In a sand storm, these racing thoughts
suffocate and bury me under

When the sun blazes high
I’m left parched and dry
Even if these salty tears may flow
they shall draw out rainless sorrow

When you hand me water
I’m convinced but a mirage
So I outsmart your wisdom and kindness
Swat away any odds of oasis

It has taken this many moons
I’m awaken not a day too soon
My pride and ego can’t ever sustain
longer than my practiced peace within

When the wind arises, I wait
for they shall die before I do
When a lifeline is thrown, I listen
if only to hand my trust to you

Look Both Ways

He passed away, and
she was just born today
Make sure you notice
and to look both ways

When News run on outrage
since good news don’t sell
Do double the work
to balance yourself

Take pause with a deep breath
push the ceiling higher
Breathe out sincere kindness
seep beneath the ground

I’m here today, all but
gone tomorrow
Happiness, sadness
no need to keep count

Lost and Fed

We lost our ability
to focus, to decide
We lost the way
to think in our minds

Instead we’re fed algorithms
the endless news, we rage
the epic shows, we binge
the targeted ads, we buy

When did we last
walk a mile deep in silence?
shut our phones for a while, and
daydream our own indulgence?

Why fight for peace, if we’d just find the peace lacking?
Why listen, if we’re just convinced They’re wrong?
Why be farmers, when we can be fed like cattle?
With eyes opened, may we see past this barn

There’s No Way I Don’t Love You

There’s no way I don’t love you
From the way my bruised heart bleeds
Bricks sunk in my chest
But yearn for your ears

Love not romance, I miss
Optimism from our twenties
Plans to change the world
But never locked down

We’re here now years later
Anchored to different seas
Hope, dreams, nostalgia
I shall never be!

There’s nothing wrong with Nothing

There’s nothing wrong with Nothing
despite their strength of hand
capture nor grip, already there
shall the sun shines through

Nothing is the feeling
neither up nor down
costs nothing, or billions
to feel the very same

vacant canvas
an unchecked box
wordless silence
pressure amounts

So what if i have nothing
don’t mistaken for sadness
peace nor melancholy
shall Nothing —
