- It was such a nice, final day to spend with Ian before I turn into a work zombie again. We walked to downtown to Mom’s Tofu for lunch and I spent the rest of the day setting up Bullet Journal with some Sequence in between.
- Every time my boss was talking in a meeting, we would make eye contact and I’d instinctively looked away. I know I’m socially awkward but have I always been this bad with maintaining eye contact? But like, what do you do when a straight man looks right into your eyes anyways?
- Finished watching Carol and the World — such a nice, cathartic series to watch with a spectacular last episode to boot.
- Had a good time chatting with my coworkers today. I always try to have some topics to discuss but sometimes being human with impromptu topics can be even better.
- Went for my first run of the year. Was intimidated since I haven’t run in months but so glad I did. The weather was perfect and it was nice to run by the new library.
- Minari is such a beautiful, touching movie. The cinematography and the nostalgic colorization added so much to it.
- Got a lot of errands done and even tried out my idea for a yearly planner — sometimes shower thoughts work out!
— - The mushroom ravioli Ian made was so good!
- The saying “You can draw a smiley face and then make friends with it” can aptly describe my extroverted cubicle mate
- The day was long and by the last meeting the stakeholders had no further questions — this must be what climbing Mt Everest feels like.
- Sometimes I can feel my humanity slipping when I look at my calendar that is so completely filled of meetings.
- I saw the old running man again for the first time in a long while. I’m so glad he’s still at it.
- My mom showed me some jewelry and I honestly don’t know if they cost $5 or $5,000. Like with a car at least I have somewhat of a range, but with jewlery it’s an absolute blind spot for me.
- The ramen shop cashier I frequent who’s not usually kind to me, was kind to me today.
— - Knowing I was looking for a mechanical pencil, Ian gifted to me the one he bought in Japan. It’s lovely and I shall cherish it.
- Taking a walk when my foot is still in pain, but not more than yesterday, and before the arrival of the rain, is a blessing.
- The braised pork my dad made is so good, even days after having dinner with them.
- Um, I didn’t know Scavenger Reign has an actual story, up till now (2nd episode) I assumed it was just a collection of shorts.
- Ian and I are back at it with Vampire Survivor! Goodbye retinas!
- Maybe it was the weekend or that it was rainy today, but going to H Mart in SF was a pretty bad experience that really soured our mood this morning. But it also meant we do like Kukje that much more.
- Ian made some really good curry noodle soup tonight for dinner.
— - I’m glad to be able to go for a quick walk in my day of meetings and right before the rain.
- Ian made the cutest Onigiri flight for dinner tonight. All with yummy fillings, too! 😋
- I saw someone “washing window during the rain” and thought, that’s a good, contemplative phrase I should use sometimes.
- I realized being “centered” is the word that defines the feeling whenever I get a good sense of where things are in life.
- It wasn’t until I wore my old pair of running shoes did I realize just how differently it impacted my foot — so much to my chagrin I may have to stop running in my new ones.
- Watched Shortcomings, which was a fine movie minus just how unlikeable the main character was; otherwise a nice, recovering day.
- Super productive with errands as Ian and I are seeing where 2024 may take us. Really liking Science of Well Being course this week.
— - It was so nice to hang out with Becky amidst a work day. Ian and I made dumplings for dinner and it felt very special.
- I told Ian about this first gray hair I noticed and told him not to pull it and he laughed, saying he loves me lots but it’s not nearly my first one. Apparently I have loads more around the back of my head and now I’m dreading my mortality right before bed time.
- A pineapple express will forever be that 2008 pot-comedic movie and not whatever why that weather term is known to be.
