What’s Worth Remembering: March 2024

  1. Went for a walk around the neighborhood trail one last time before our move tomorrow. I appreciate so much of what it offered, during the pandemic and even now, the wind, the passerbys, the blue skies and pretty clouds. Everything comes to an end, even if it’s en route to a new beginning
  2. Moving day was stressful, but productive and I’m proud Ian and I could work as a team! Hasn’t sunk in yet that this will be our new apartment — still feel like it’s the first night at an airbnb
  3. Even though we are still deep in packing mode, I’m glad we were able to take a break and go for a walk in familiar ground
  4. Finally not sneezing so much today, though i felt like I’m days behind work
  5. Today felt so blah, perhaps related to me not been running for awhile
  6. So glad I wished my aunt happy birthday on time this year. as I often struggle to factor in the time difference
  7. The neighborhood cat saw me and jumped to a hidden place by where I park. One of the reasons I really enjoy the new apartment
  8. Went for my first run since my move and really appreciate the nearby triail! Spent time appreciating the mundane
  9. During our last walk around the old apartment’s trail, Ian had a bubble on his coffee cup and it burst right when he kissed it — a moment definitely worth remembering
  10. Finally unpacked most of the boxes (still 1 or 2 hiding in a closet) and broken down — Ian was instrumental in this move and was so helpful even/especially when I was stressed. Let’s hope we never have to move again
  11. List of awesomely mundane: steam off compost pile, a morning run, better than expected coffee, a sweep of apartment
  12. it was nice to spend time with my colleagues, even though it’s super tiring by the end of the day
  13. I was really expecting 0-3 but with the help of two random players plus our team I made it out of my first escape room!
  14. It was fun to socialize with the larger team with an off campus lunch! But also glad I finally get to go home at a decent time
  15. It was so warm (and I was so hydrated) that I couldn’t finish my run. At least I’m still testing Covid negative, so that’s good
  16. Finally able to spend a a nice, relaxing day with Ian. Almost felt guilty that we weren’t doing more, but that’s a testment to how much we’ve been go go go
  17. It really is the sign of where our lives are today — went for a run today and very nearly mistaken no less than 4 people for my friends
  18. I just love Ian so, so much ❤
  19. Sometime things people say are just so off putting. From people I respect too, sigh
  20. Grateful for the compliments I got from respected folks. It encouraged and validation the quality of my work (even though I don’t always feel it)
  21. While it sucked to have forgotten my laptop and had to drive back home today, it did allow me to see Ian for a few more hours than otherwise. The universe working in its usual, magical ways
  22. Felt like such a hermit today but glad I went for a run. Spent the evening watching Killers of the Flower Moon
  23. Needed to do one thing today but ended up doing literally everything else. Procrastination is a powerful drug
  24. Was nice to finally spend time with my parents, but wasn’t too nice to find out I have to pay in taxes this year
  25. Glad we sorted out the final bill from the last apartment — onwards and upwards!
  26. Watched Minority Report and it wasn’t as good as I remembered. When I watched it the first time I thought the targeting advertising was so futuristic, but now we all know better!
  27. Been having some frank conversation with various coworkers, grateful I’m at a place where I can trust them to give me some honest feedback
  28. My coworker asked how I can manage it all and as reflex i said, “Oh I complain a lot”. He laughs but like, yeah I really do
  29. I’m so grateful for the things, people, and opportunties I have in my life. So much love, support, and kinship orbiting all around me
  30. Taxes are as done as I am broke
  31. Finally looking into estate planning, which is kinda morbid but also… calming?
