Day 17: One of the most common comments I get when discussing health and nutrition is that I’m so blessed by my Asian genes, able to eat whatever I want without gaining a pound.
Usually I’d just laugh it off, though sometimes I do wonder just how accurate that accusation is. While I do eat whatever the hell I want, what I want isn’t usually sodas, alcohol, or things slathered in cheese or bacon. Instead they’re basic and super boring things like eggs… and coffee.
Perhaps I’m blessed not by my “Asian genes”, but by my natural preference for simple, unprocessed foods.
It’s the latter. My sis would tell you, some Asian can eat almost nothing and gain pounds.
